Oh yes, calling all Trancey headz out
there, we are very excited to announce that TFP will be
bringing rising Tech Trance stars MAC & TAYLOR to the
southwest for the first time!
This will be a very special night as it will be THE
FUSION PROJECT’s 2nd Birthday bash, we will be taking
over the whole building for this, more details on ticket
outlets and more Dj’s to be announced very soon so keep
your eyes peeled!
In the meantime checkout this blog and understand why
you shouldn’t miss this event:
Over the past few years Mac and Taylor has been a name
that has and continues to shake the foundations of the
EDM scene! Hailing from the UK this Dj/Production duo
was formed in 2007 and from the word go these guys
captured the attention of the world’s elite dj’s and the
scene in general.
Setting their stall out early, Mac and Taylor cruised
through 2007/2008 racking up huge support from the likes
of, Tiesto, Judge Jules, Eddie Halliwell, Sander van
Doorn, Scot project and so on. The guys quickly became
firm favourites of global superstar Judge Jules after
their tracks had sat firmly in his dj sets and on his
weekly BBC Radio One show week in week out so it wasn't
long until they were invited to join jules on the UK's
biggest radio station BBC Radio One for not 1 but three
interviews, being granted the honour of playing the
prestigious Sets Education guest mix and Jules himself
tipping Mac and Taylor for big things in 2009 which was
certainly to be the case!
Moving into 2009 the demand and appetite for what can
only be described as the Mac and Taylor sound escalated
to a new level which seen them play some of the biggest
and most prestigious events up and down the country and
around the world! some highlights included them being
invited to play alongside Deadmau5 on his Mau5Story
world main stage to six thousand people in the Czech
Republic and then shortly after that they were one of
very few to be invited to play consecutively both of
Irelands biggest music festivals Planet Love!
The versatility of the Mac and Taylor sound soon evolved
and spilt over into the harder side of the EDM Scene
which then seen them catching the attention of the A
list on that side of the fence. No sooner did this
transaction begin when they were asked to remix for the
world’s Number one female Dj Lisa Lashes and hard dance
hero’s The Organ donors! Following this there Pioneering
cross genre began to rack up major support and caught
the attention of yet another BBC Radio one Dj and major
player on the hard scene Kutski.
Kutski Quoted....
“Mac and Taylor were one of the acts that really shone
through in 2009, with a unique identifiable sound
crossing between a cool tech-Trance vibe, yet still
tough enough to rock the harder dance floors! Having
gained support and praise from the biggest artists on
both sides of the fence, 2010 looks to be the year these
guys break into the A-list!!”
Only just into 2010 and with no sign of these guys
slowing the lads have already been featured in the
world’s leading EDM Magazine MixMag under a section
titled “Fresh Meat” highlighting them as rising talent,
and with a packed out schedule of gigs and studio
projects, 2010...the stage is set!

-------
Just for now here's a little bit about Rennie Pilgrem:
Son of a jazz trumpeter, Rennie started life playing
tenor saxophone and sitting with his Father’s various
bands around Southern England. Later after getting
heavily into ‘black’ music he formed various funk bands
playing sax and keyboards. Rennie's musical infatuation
took a big twist when he heard the sounds coming out of
Detroit in the late ‘80s. After making rudimentary House
music on the wrong kind of drum machines with soon to be
Rhythm Section members Ellis Dee, Richard Thake and Nick
‘Newton Scott, they had interest from (amongst others)
the new British house label Guerrilla. Preferring to
release their own material they formed Rhythm Section
Recordings and became part of the wave of breakbeat
house that went on to become known as Hardcore in the
early ‘90’s.
Their third release ‘Comin’ On Strong’ was a anthem and
would have charted top 40 if they’d known about ‘bar
codes’ on records. With Ellis Dee the crowned king of
rave Djs, Rhythm Section played at pretty much every
main party between ’90-92’. On the same bill as The
Prodigy, Moby, Altern 8, Shades Of Rhythm and Bizzare
Inc. Their music was very big with pretty much every
major DJ at the time, Fabio, Grooverider, Ray Keith,
Carl Cox etc etc
As the drugs sped up, so did the music. When the bpms
reached a ridiculous 150, Rhythm Section decided to call
it a day and separately went back to making music at
House tempo.
In 1993 Rennie founded Thursday Club Recordings (TCR) as
a medium for putting out his own material. His first few
releases were funky house with a smattering of breaks
lurking in the background. Recording now as ‘Thursday
Club’ he had a big tune with ‘Thursday Theme’ which was
chased by Virgin. A chance PA in Florida was another
turning point in 1994. Hearing a thriving breaks scene
at its original tempo galvanized Rennie into going back
to pure breaks.
'A Place Called Acid' (1995) was one of the biggest
breakbeat tunes around. With his pedigree as a member of
the legendary Rhythm Section in the rave days Rennie's
remixing skills are much in demand. He also set up
'Friction' with Adam Freeland, Tayo and Ian Williams
which pretty much kick-started the whole 'Nu Skool'
scene. He also coined the term 'Nu Skool' along with his
fellow Friction partners as a way of describing their
music.
He's released records on Whole9yards, City Of Angels,
Chrysalis/EMI, Mob and China Records to name but a few.
He's collaborated with many top producers including
legend Arthur Baker (on 'Like No Other', 'Hey Funky
People' and ‘Face It’), BLIM (on that massive 'Eskimo'
track and the equally huge ‘2Freaks’) and with Meat
Katie (on 'Rubba' and 'Atmosphere'). Following on from
the huge ‘Black Widow’, Rennie also decided it was time
to go back into the studio with Uberzone and their
follow-up ‘Cous Cous’ received support from the likes of
everyone from the Plump DJ’s to Pete Tong and Sasha!
He continues to DJ all over the world and wow audiences
with his dancefloor-friendly funk-infused breaks.

Combining the two brings a fusion of electronic music

Oh my day’s, calling all TFP follower’s , report
to the checkout immediately as our next installment at
The Rave Cave see’s a very special guest appearance
indeed not to be missed!!!
Marcus Gauntlett (aka Ruud Mover) is perhaps one of the
most prolific producers / remixers on the scene over the
last few years, as a solo artist and as one half of top
40 act LnM Projekt (Hed Kandi / Oxyd).
In a relatively short career Marcus has already DJ-ed at
countless shows in Asia, America and all over Europe for
some of the best clubbing nights; Ministry of sound, Hed
Kandi, Godskitchen as well as performing at some amazing
festivals including the world famous Glastonbury.
As a producer Marcus has already had over 40 single
releases and remixes which have been given support from
the industries finest DJ’s and gained airplay on all
major radio stations including BBC Radio 1. Marcus can
also credit a club chart number 1 and UK top 40 record
to his name which also reached number one in five
countries worldwide (“Everywhere”) on Hed Kandi. He has
also starred in several hot music videos for his own
music which can be found on his youtube page.
www.youtube.com/marcusgauntlett
Marcus’s tracks and remixes are
blowing up on all sides of the music scene. Never happy
to pigeon hole “his sound” to that of house, trance,
electro or pop, he has a style that transcends genre and
flirts with them all!
His next big tune, “Love Shock” which features the
vocals of multi-talented model and TV Presenter Miss
Amberlie, is the first track under his new guise Ruud
Mover. Originally taste makered out to the chosen few
last year to great reactions, 'Love Shock' now comes
complete with a superb set of remixes and a sexy video
promo; it is undoubtedly going to be a serious contender
for one of the big tunes of 2010!
Also on the way in the coming weeks and months we can
look forward to “New York City” (on 1980 Recordings) a
twisted house track already gaining air play on Radio
One from Kissy Sell Out, “Out of time” (on Digiprana
records) plus his fantastic remix of Erik Hakansson’s
“Morning light” due out on the huge progressive label,
Emotive from Sweden.
As mentioned previously Marcus is also one half of
superstar production duo, LnM Projekt. Huge tracks are
on the way from LnM Projekt including “Watching me move”
which features vocals from American starlet, Elise! This
track is due out in the Spring of 2010 on label giants
Oxyd and has already been licensed to several major
compilations including Ministry Of Sound.
With all this said, it would seem Marcus’ quest to
completely take over the dance music scene is well on
course!
On top of one off shows you can catch Marcus DJ-ing
every month at his own night, Housework as well as all
over Ibiza this summer!
Also giving full support, TFP residents Phatjaq, Tommy
Tease and Wayne B will be stirrin up some fine tuneage
to keep it all flowing!
This is a definite night not to be missed!
PEACE!
